Brighter Shores - Sims x Runescape ???

Today a game was released that I honestly had no clue about before this morning. My husband is a hardcore OSRS (Oldschool Runescape) player, so he was the one that delivered this news to me. He showed me a few moments of one of his favorite streamers playing it, and just by the way it looked, I was already interested. I have tried to get into OSRS, and while it's not a bad game, it was a very overwhelming experience to me. Intrigued by this Runescape-esque game, I decided to look it up on my own. Much to my surprise, Brighter Shores is free, yes free, on Steam! This game is developed by the same individual, Andrew Gower, who also designed Runescape, and it's advertised as an MMORPG. While it's true you can see and chat with other players, there are no servers yet. I'm not sure if there will be servers in the future, or if it's just going to be random as to where you'll land. Keep in mind, this game was just released, and is in early access.

This game has ALL the things. There are so many skills that you can level up in to keep you busy for a very, VERY long time. To name a few, there's fishing, foraging, alchemy, cooking, and mining. There are A LOT more, but that at least gives you a little idea! I think leveling up your skills is very fun, and engaging, and I absolutely love the fishing. Your character gets in the water, and the graphics just make it incredibly cute to me. ;) As you explore the world, you discover new things that you can interact with to level up, depending on your skill.

Getting to the "Sims" aspect of this, the only reason I really feel this is a Sims x Runescape mashup, is because of the graphics. They give me big time Sims feels, and I THOROUGHLY enjoy this. Graphics play a huge part on whether or not I'll end up liking a game or not. So far, I can not complain about a single graphic I've seen in this game. They're cute. Plain and simple. :o) All the environments that I have explored so far, have been so detailed, and so gorgeous.

I do really hope you give this game a try! I personally find it super cozy and time has passed by so quickly today while playing it.
